How to Apply

All study abroad application materials must be submitted online to the Office of International Programs (transcripts, or other paper documents must be submitted in person). After the initial review the application is forwarded to the appropriate program for further approval.

  1. Apply online.
Once you have been in for an advising appointment (no advising is required for Interim applications) and selected a program, follow the link to apply online. All students must submit an application via the Wofford College online system. Follow the instructions to create your personal homepage. Students will need their myWofford username and password. Be sure to complete all the steps as outlined on your homepage. Some programs may also require additional materials; all of these should be submitted directly to the Office of International Programs by the application deadline for consideration for acceptance.

  2. Apply for scholarships.
For semester and year-long study abroad, financial aid may apply, but often additional aid is helpful. Check out our Scholarship Opportunities site if more assistance is needed.

  3. Check your applicant homepage regularly.
After you have completed the application, check your applicant homepage and Wofford email regularly. You will receive acceptance notification via email. Reminder notices will also be posted or emailed to you.

  4. Confirm participation.
Once accepted, you must confirm your participation within the specified time frame (indicated in correspondence from program). A deposit is required by each program to confirm your spot in the study abroad program. This is the only payment you should pay directly to the program before departure as it is your firm commitment to participate. Other forms or releases may also be required by your program at this time.

  5. Complete acceptance materials and course approvals.
Once you are accepted/confirmed, you must submit all post-acceptance materials. This includes a Wofford Course Approval Form, Four Year Planner, and Release for Study Abroad. These can be found in the Materials section on your applicant homepage. Your program will also require various health forms, liability forms, etc. Study abroad participation is contingent upon submission of these materials.

  6. Attend Ongoing Orientation meetings.
Attendance at the pre-departure meetings is mandatory. You will be notified of orientation dates and times after your application is approved and accepted.
