Why did you choose this program?

I chose this program because it offered classes in Ecology and Conservation in Spanish so I was able to study in the field of both of my majors/interests.

What was your favorite aspect of this program?

My favorite aspect of this program was the structure of the schedule. We traveled around almost the entire country of Ecuador doing work in the field so I was able to learn experientially.

I lived with a host family in their apartment in the capital city of Quito.

What was your favorite class and why?
|
My favorite class was Conservation because it taught me about Ecuadorian social issues from an environmental perspective. I loved the personal and environmental aspects of this class.

What did you gain from studying abroad?
|
I gained countless relationships with Ecuadorians who I made deep connections with. I was challenged physically, emotionally, spiritually and intellectually and I believe that I have come out stronger in all of these ways. My worldview was altered for the better and my understanding of people and cultures was deepened. I also was brokenhearted over poverty from having lived within it and made relationships with people who experience it daily and it has given me new direction in life.
