Why did you choose this program?
Program Testimonials
I wanted to be able to take a psych class abroad, and loved the idea of getting to go to Morocco.

Why did you choose this program?
Program Testimonials
Wofford always seemed to send a lot of students to Granada and I never heard anything negative about the city, the IES staff, or the classes offered. I was excited to have the opportunity to travel some around Europe and to Morocco, but also enjoyed every moment I stayed in Granada!
— Leanna Herbert, Spring 2015

What was your housing situation like?
Program Testimonials
I lived in an apartment, with my own room for most of the time. I lived with a woman, her adult daughter, and an IES roommate. Later, I had to move in order to stay beyond the program date, and lived with two women, their cats, and another IES roommate. In that home, I shared a room.

I lived with a señora who was amazing. She made me feel very welcomed and comfortable in her home and in Granada. She also cooked amazing lunches for me ( I still miss them! )

What was your housing situation like?
Program Testimonials
I lived with an American roommate and an older Spanish woman. My host-mom was the greatest! She was super supportive and always expressed an interest in what we were up to!

What was your favorite class and why?
Program Testimonials
Islamic Art and Architecture was amazing! It was a lot of work, but we got to visit so many interesting places, and saw parts of the Alhambra that are closed off to the public. It was great to learn more about the history of al-Andalus, since most people's histories of Granada pick up with Isabel and Ferdinand.
— Helen Shelton, Spring 2011
What was your favorite class and why?
Program Testimonials
I loved my Lorca class. We used Lorca's poetry and plays and the actual city of Granada as study materials. It was very hands-on and a the professor approached discussing poetry in a very unique and understanding way.
— Leanna Herbert, Spring 2015
What was your favorite class and why?
Program Testimonials
Surprisingly, Islamic Art and Architecture. I didn't think I would enjoy an art history class, but it was actually an awesome way to learn about the region I was in and its history.

What did you gain from studying abroad?
Program Testimonials
I feel more developed as a person. I know better where I stand on issues, and I know that, at least to some extent, I am more capable than I thought I was. It was hard going to a program where I was the only Wofford student, but it let me really explore who I was.
— Helen Shelton, Spring 2011
What did you gain from studying abroad?
Program Testimonials
Besides the sincere desire to spend more time in Spain and in Granada, I feel that it was a serious confidence-building semester for me. I've come back confident in my ability to figure out a new city, in my ability to make and keep amazing friends, and in my Spanish speaking abilities. There was a lot of opportunities to leave my comfort zone and each time I did, I felt like my Granada experience was improved and enriched.
— Leanna Herbert, Spring 2015
