For program dates: February 1 - May 23, 2024 (Students on Babilon Course arrive January 12-14) **
1. Extra Course Fees: Students may also opt to take the optional, two-week Babilon Language & Culture course prior to the start of the BSM semester in Budapest for an additional $410 fee + additional rent and insurance costs.
2. Housing & Included Meals: BSM arranges apartment housing assignments in BSM approved apartments. However, students are responsible for paying rent directly to their landlord (see "Other" below). No meals are included in housing.
3. Passport: The estimated cost above includes the $60 fee for expedited service. Due to COVID-19 and its impact on the U.S. Postal Service, the U.S. State Department is currently experiencing delays in receiving passport applications with routine processing service estimated to take as long as 14 weeks. We, therefore, recommend that students send their application using USPS’ Priority Mail Express and consider requesting expedited service if possible. 4. Books: The cost of textbooks ranges from $150 - $350 per semester.
5. Other: Rent prices per person, regardless of location, should be in the range of about $450-$475 per month plus one time security deposit. The first month’s rent will usually be payable within a week of a student's arrival and they can work with the BSM Student Services Director for help with signing their lease or confirming equipment standards. This figure also includes an estimate of $650 for utilities per semester as part of their housing expenses.

Your actual costs will vary from this estimate prepared by the Office of International Programs. Please compare this estimate to the information that you receive from your program and personalize it based on your chosen program options and personal plans. The Financial Aid Office utilizes this cost estimate when approving scholarships, grants and student loans for use when studying away from campus. All of the above expenses with the exception of independent travel and personal expenses may be used in configuring your financial aid package. Once you are admitted, you may contact the Financial Aid Office with questions regarding your financial aid package.
