Budget estimate based on Spring 2022 fees (Updated 10/25/2021)
Program dates: January 23 - May 8, 2022 **
1. Airfare: Students are responsible for flights to the initial program site (Nepal) and their return flight from their final program site (Ecuador). International group flights between country programs are covered by the SIT program fee.
2. Independent Travel: Mid-semester break costs can range from $300 - $600.
3. Personal: On-site expenses can range from $700 - $900. This includes $400 estimated costs for up-front medical costs on-site, if applicable. Estimated expenses will be updated once Spring 2022 Country Overview is available.
4. Additional Meals: Most are included in the program fee, but students will eat out occasionally.
5. COVID Test: Cost for COVID-19 testing in Ecuador is currently required for re-entry to the U.S. for all travelers. Students may incur costs for other pre- and post-arrival COVID tests in their host countries as well. Please see Department of State COVID country specific information for updated entry and exit testing requirements.
Please note you may have additional expenses related to required or recommended immunizations. The Wofford College Office of International Programs urges you to consult your SIT Health Guidelines, the Centers for Disease Control website, and your healthcare provider to assess such needs and related costs.
Your actual costs will vary from this estimate prepared by the Office of International Programs. Please compare this estimate to the information that you receive from your program and personalize it based on your chosen program options and personal plans. The Financial Aid Office utilizes this cost estimate when approving scholarships, grants and student loans for use when studying away from campus. All of the above expenses with the exception of independent travel and personal expenses may be used in configuring your financial aid package. Once you are admitted, you may contact the Financial Aid Office with questions regarding your financial aid package.
