Budget estimate based on Spring 2024 fees (Updated 10/23/2023)
For dates: January 22 - May 17, 2024 **

1. Housing & Included Meals: Students are housed in mostly double rooms in nearby residential apartments. CYA provides students in apartments with a pillow, two blankets, and a bedspread for each student and bed, but students must bring towels, sheets, and pillowcases. A $250 deposit will be collected from each student prior to arrival to cover the damage or loss of items issued.  The deposit will be returned after items have been returned in good condition.

The program fee includes a main midday meal Monday through Friday, except on overnight field trips and during holidays and recesses. CYA dining facilities are located on the ground floor of the Academic Center. On overnight field trips, breakfast is provided instead of lunch.

2. Educational Travel: CYA offers several Faculty-led Optional Study Trips range from $650 - $850. Details of available optional field study are sent to all accepted students before the semester begins.

3. Visa: Please note that the Visa costs given can vary due to changes in Greek government requirements and/or exchange rates.

4. Personal: Please note that personal expenses (meals, entertainment, laundry, incidentals) vary widely from student to student and can range between €40 and €100 per week (approximately $683 - $1,707 for 16 weeks). See OANDA for currency conversion between US Dollars ($) and Euros (€).

5. Passport: The estimated cost above includes the $60 fee for expedited service. Due to COVID-19 and its impact on the U.S. Postal Service, the U.S. State Department is currently experiencing delays in receiving passport applications with routine processing service estimated to take as long as 11 weeks. We, therefore, recommend that students send their application using USPS’ Priority Mail Express and consider requesting expedited service if you able. Click here for more information on securing a passport.

Please note you may have additional expenses related to required or recommended immunizations. The Wofford College Office of International Programs urges you to consult your program materials, the Centers for Disease Control website, and your healthcare provider to assess such needs.

Your actual costs will vary from this estimate prepared by the Office of International Programs. Please compare this estimate to the information that you receive from your program and personalize it based on your chosen housing, course options and travel plans. . The Financial Aid Office utilizes this cost estimate when approving scholarships, grants and student loans for use when studying away from campus. All of the above expenses with the exception of independent travel and personal expenses may be used in configuring your financial aid package. Once you are admitted, you may contact the Financial Aid Office with questions regarding your financial aid package.
