Budget estimate based on Fall 2022 fees (Updated 4/1/2022)
For program dates: July 25 - November 4, 2022 **

1. Housing & Included Meals: Housing fee and included meals vary by housing type. The figure above is for students choosing the Homestay or Student Residence (double-occupancy). Students who choose the Student Residence (single-occupancy) are charged an additional $1,100. No meals are included in the Residence; 14 meals per week are included in the Homestay.

2. Educational Travel: Optional IES field trips range from $450 - $1,850.

2. Visa: Figure includes Consular fees ($160), any fees for FBI background check ($40), and travel to/from Atlanta ($50) for required Consular visit for those within SC jurisdiction. Those in other jurisdictions should budget travel accordingly. If students choose to expedite their application, an additional fee of $20-95 may be charged. This fee is not included in the figure above. See program visa materials for more details on application process and fees.

3. Passport: The estimated cost above includes the $60 fee for expedited service. Due to COVID-19 and its impact on the U.S. Postal Service, the U.S. State Department is currently experiencing delays in receiving passport applications with routine processing service estimated to take as long as 11 weeks. We, therefore, recommend that students send their application using USPS’ Priority Mail Express and consider requesting expedited service if you able. Click here for more information on securing a passport.

4. COVID-19 Testing Costs: Cost for COVID-19 testing in Chile is currently required for re-entry to the U.S. for all travelers. Students may incur costs for other pre- and post-arrival COVID tests in their host country as well. Please see Department of State COVID country specific information for updated entry and exit testing requirements.

Please note you may have additional expenses related to required or recommended immunizations. The Wofford College Office of International Programs urges you to consult your program materials, the Centers for Disease Control website, and your healthcare provider to assess such needs.

Your actual costs will vary from this estimate prepared by the Office of International Programs. Please compare this estimate to the information that you receive from your program and personalize it based on your chosen housing, course options and travel plans. . The Financial Aid Office utilizes this cost estimate when approving scholarships, grants and student loans for use when studying away from campus. All of the above expenses with the exception of independent travel and personal expenses may be used in configuring your financial aid package. Once you are admitted, you may contact the Financial Aid Office with questions regarding your financial aid package.
