Budget estimate based on Fall 2022 fees (Updated 4/1/2022)
For program dates: September 5 - December 15, 2022 **

1. Housing & Included Meals: Housing cost and included meals varies by type. The figure listed above is for students staying in a double-occupancy room in an Apartment, Residence Hall, or Aparthotel. Students who choose a single-occupancy room in an Apartment or Residence Hall are charged an additional $500 fee. Students who choose the Homestay option are charged an additional $1,000 fee. No meals are included with the Apartment, Residence Hall, or Aparthotel options; 12 meals per week, 6 days per week are provided in Homestays.

2. Visa: Figure includes consular fees ($56.20), Wofford visa processing & mailing fee ($75), and on-site residency permit fee ($150).

3. Passport: The estimated cost above includes the $60 fee for expedited service. Due to COVID-19 and its impact on the U.S. Postal Service, the U.S. State Department is currently experiencing delays in receiving passport applications with routine processing service estimated to take as long as 11 weeks. We, therefore, recommend that students send their application using USPS’ Priority Mail Express and consider requesting expedited service if you able. Click here for more information on securing a passport.

4. Meals: The figure listed above is for students staying in an Apartment, Residence Hall, or Aparthotel. Students staying with a homestay should budget $1,000 per semester, since 12 meals per week are included.

5. COVID-19 Testing Costs: Cost for COVID-19 testing in Italy is currently required for re-entry to the U.S. for all travelers. Students may incur costs for other pre- and post-arrival COVID tests in their host country as well. Please see Department of State COVID country specific information for updated entry and exit testing requirements.

Please note you may have additional expenses related to required or recommended immunizations. The Wofford College Office of International Programs urges you to consult your program materials, the Centers for Disease Control website, and your healthcare provider to assess such needs.

Your actual costs will vary from this estimate prepared by the Office of International Programs. Please compare this estimate to the information that you receive from your program and personalize it based on your chosen program options and personal plans. The Financial Aid Office utilizes this cost estimate when approving scholarships, grants and student loans for use when studying away from campus. All of the above expenses with the exception of independent travel and personal expenses may be used in configuring your financial aid package. Once you are admitted, you may contact the Financial Aid Office with questions regarding your financial aid package.
