Budget estimate based on Spring 2024 fees (Updated 10/30/2023)
For dates: February 25 - June 1, 2024 **

1. Housing & Included Meals: Housing costs vary by housing type. The figure above is for students staying in a Premium Residence Hall (double occupancy), which includes a $750 supplemental fee. Students in Homestays can subtract the $750 fee.  Students opting for Premium Plus Residence Halls (single occupancy en suite) have a supplemental fee of $750 added to the total housing fee above.  All supplemental fees are billed approximately 1 month after the program begins. Homestays include 14 meals/week and no meals are provided in the Student Residence.

2. Visa: Required Visa Extension fee (paid to Chilean Government upon arrival).

3. Passport: The estimated cost above includes the $60 fee for expedited service. The U.S. State Department is currently experiencing delays in receiving passport applications with routine processing service estimated to take a minimum of 14 weeks. We, therefore, recommend that students send their application using USPS’ Priority Mail Express and request expedited service. Click here for more information on securing a passport.

5. Additional Meals: The out-of-pocket cost of additional meals varies by housing type. The figure above is for those staying in a Residence Hall.  Students in Homestays should budget $1,500 in out-of-pocket meal costs in addition to the 14 meals/week provided.

Please note you may have additional expenses related to required or recommended immunizations. The Wofford College Office of International Programs urges you to consult your program materials, the Centers for Disease Control website, and your healthcare provider to assess such needs.

Your actual costs will vary from this estimate prepared by the Office of International Programs. Please compare this estimate to the information that you receive from your program and personalize it based on your chosen housing, course options and travel plans. . The Financial Aid Office utilizes this cost estimate when approving scholarships, grants and student loans for use when studying away from campus. All of the above expenses with the exception of independent travel and personal expenses may be used in configuring your financial aid package. Once you are admitted, you may contact the Financial Aid Office with questions regarding your financial aid package.
