Program Overview
The purpose of this interim trip is to examine some of the ways in which modern Britain preserves, utilizes and is affected by its own history. After a week of on-campus preparation we will embark on our 17-day trip. We will be based in the heart of London, exploring the layers of history from Roman walls to Westminster Abbey, Churchill’s War Rooms and the Tate Modern. We will leave London for a 4-day trip to Bath and Oxford, visiting such sites as Stonehenge, Shakespeare’s Birthplace in Stratford-on-Avon and Windsor Castle. In addition to guided tours of many historical sites our trip includes at least two theater performances, several museum and gallery tours and considerable free time to experience the life of the modern city in small groups or pairs. Most meals will be shared to facilitate group discussion and the exchange of ideas.

Wofford Travel Grants
The Wofford College Travel Grants provide assistance to students who are participating in an Interim Travel/Study program. Financial need and academic merit are the principle considerations in awarding these grants. Please note that an application for a Wofford Travel Grant does not substitute for the Travel/Study project application for Interim.

To be eligible to apply for a Travel Grant, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (except first-year students applying in the fall) and be in good social and academic standing with the College. Awards range from $500 - $1,500. The number of awards granted will depend upon the number of applicants as well as available funds. The award is directly applied to the applicant's program fees. To apply, complete the online Wofford College Travel Grant application.
